Corbett National Park
Corbett National Park is one of the most famous and beautiful wildlife areas in India. It is located in Uttarakhand, in the districts of Nainital and Pauri. The park covers an area of 521 square kilometers. Along with the nearby Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary and forest areas, it forms the Corbett Tiger Reserve, which spreads over 1,288 square kilometers.
This park was started in 1936 and is the first national park in mainland Asia. It has many different types of land—like rivers, hills, forests, and grasslands—which makes it a great home for many animals and plants.
Corbett is well known for its Bengal Tigers and Asiatic Elephants. It is also a great place for bird lovers, as more than 600 kinds of birds live here. Because it lies between the mountains and the plains, Corbett has both Himalayan and lowland wildlife.

🧔♂️ About Jim Corbett – The Legend Behind the Park
Edward James "Jim" Corbett (1875–1955) was a British hunter, soldier, and conservationist born in Nainital, India. He became famous for hunting man-eating tigers and leopards that threatened villages in the Kumaon and Garhwal regions. Deeply respected by locals, Corbett later dedicated his life to wildlife conservation and played a key role in establishing India’s first national park, later named Jim Corbett National Park in his honor. A nature lover and talented writer, he authored several classic books like Man-Eaters of Kumaon and Jungle Lore, which are still widely read. Corbett was known for his courage, humility, and deep love for India’s people and forests, and his legacy lives on through his books, the park, and continued global admiration.

Best Time to Visit Jim Corbett National Park
Jim Corbett National Park has long attracted nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts from around the world. To protect the fragile ecosystem, tourism is allowed only in specific zones of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, offering visitors a chance to witness its stunning landscapes and rich wildlife. The park sees over 70,000 visitors annually, both domestic and international. Located at an altitude of 385 to 1100 meters, Corbett receives 1400–2800 mm of rainfall yearly and experiences temperatures ranging from 4°C in winter to 42°C in summer. The park has three distinct seasons—Winter (Nov–Feb), Summer (Mar–Jun), and Monsoon (Jul–Oct). While Jhirna Zone remains open year-round, Bijrani Zone opens from mid-October and the Dhikala Zone, the park's core area, becomes accessible from 15th November after monsoon-related road repairs. The best time to visit Corbett is between 15th November and 15th June, when all safari zones are open and accessible.

The Jim Corbett tour package exceeded our expectations! The jeep safari was thrilling, and the customizable options made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommend this service!
